Our Ratings

The Health Benefits uses a proprietary rating system ranging from 1-10 to rate the benefits of various foods, drinks, exercises, and more. Items given a rating of 10 are considered to be the most beneficial (and most healthy) while items that are given a rating of 1 are considered to be the least beneficial (and most unhealthy).

10

Items receiving a rating of 10 are the best of the best. These items provide excellent health benefits and include no health risks or drawbacks.

9

Items receiving a rating of 9 are still considered to be very healthy but may include minor health risks under rare circumstances.

8

Items receiving a rating of 8 are very beneficial but do include some minor health risks or other drawbacks.

7

Items receiving a rating of 7 are considered to be healthy but do include some moderate health risks and other drawbacks that should be considered by the consumer.

6

Items that receive a rating of 6 should be consumed in moderation. The health benefits provided by these items generally outweigh the health risks and/or other drawbacks associated with them.

5

Items that receive a rating of 5 should be consumed in moderation. The health benefits of these items (if any) are generally outweighed by the health risks and detriments associated with them.

4

Items that receive a rating of 4 should rarely be consumed. These items generally do more harm than good.

3

Items that receive a rating of 3 should be avoided. These items may provide health benefits in rare circumstances, but they are associated with severe health risks that grossly outweigh any benefits associated with these items.

2

Items that receive a rating of 2 should be avoided. These items generally have no health benefits and are associated with moderate to severe health risks.
