The monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats that make up the rest of the fat content are great at keeping your brain and heart healthy as well as providing nutritional for cells throughout the body. Just as important as what hummus does contain is what hummus does NOT contain. There is no sugar in hummus and relatively no sodium, which makes it a great option for any diet.

How to Add Hummus to your Diet

Some of the most popular ways to include hummus in your diet is by putting it on sandwiches, using it as a salad dressing, using it as a veggie dip, by combining it with salsa as chip dip, or by putting it on a bagel instead of cream cheese.

What to Pair Your Hummus With

The healthiest options to pair with your hummus are 100% whole-wheat crackers, whole-wheat pita bread, flat bread, or bagel chips made from whole grain. You can also dip vegetables like carrots and celery in hummus to provide even more nourishment.
