The most common way of using ginger in your food is as a spice. Add it to rice recipes, entrees and oriental meals. Doing so allows you to give your meals additional taste and fragrance.  Adding ginger to your desserts gives them an added zing. Try adding it to strawberry sorbet or a vanilla panna. Simply grate some fresh ginger over the desserts, giving you a delicious and healthy end to your meal.  Add grated ginger to your juices, along with chopped lemons, carrots and apples.

Potential Risks to Your Health

As you add ginger to your diet, stay below 5 grams daily. Too much ginger can lead to internal bleeding. Try not to get ginger on your skin because of its ability to cause an uncomfortable rash.

Even in small quantities, ginger can cause mouth irritations and indigestion. If you inadvertently use too much ginger, you may increase the chances of developing these side effects.
